tfkiss is a software implementation of TheFirmware, the AX.25 packet
radio firmware written by NORD><LINK for TNC2 hardware. It presents
the TheFirmware hostmode interface to client software while using an
ordinary KISS device for the radio link, so a plain KISS TNC or a
software modem such as Direwolf can be used in place of a TNC2 running
TheFirmware in ROM.

It implements AX.25 layer 2 with DAMA support, and optionally FlexNet
node frame decoding, PID switching, and AX.25 encapsulation in IP or
UDP datagrams (AXIP). Up to 50 channels are supported.

tfkiss is normally paired with the tnt terminal program or the dpbox
mailbox, either of which connects to it over a local socket. Because
the AX.25 layer 2 implementation lives in tfkiss rather than in the
kernel, these programs can be used on systems that have no kernel
AX.25 stack.

This is a maintained fork of the port by Berndt Josef Wulf, VK5ABN.
It adds 64-bit correctness fixes, brings the sources to ANSI C, and
replaces the original build system with autoconf and automake.
